Is the leaderboard used for official judging?

No. The leaderboard is informational only — it shows how your measurable SEO KPIs stack up against other teams. Official judging uses a separate subjective rubric. Think of the leaderboard as a live dashboard, not a scoreboard.

What tools or software do I need?

Nothing beyond a web browser. Your team site comes pre-configured with GA4 tracking and a WordPress admin dashboard. All the measurement happens automatically — you focus on SEO.

Can I watch without competing?

Yes. The leaderboard and all public pages are accessible to anyone. Follow along at imgscience.net/hackathon2026/leaderboard.

How are scores calculated?

Scores are based on standard SEO KPIs collected from GA4 and Google Search Console: organic traffic, engagement time, bounce rate, new users, click-through rate, average position, and backlinks. See the full methodology for details.

How often does the leaderboard update?

KPI data is collected approximately every 5 minutes. The leaderboard refreshes automatically — no need to reload the page.

How do I choose a track?

You’ll select your track during registration. Each team competes in one track. Tracks are: On-Page SEO (technical and content), Off-Page SEO (links and authority), and AI/GEO Optimization (AI-powered search).
